The Job


Encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at optimising a website's visibility on search engines and driving organic traffic. Combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to improve a website's visibility, drive organic traffic, and contribute to overall business goals. You will be responsible to play a crucial role in guiding and overseeing the team, ensuring that goals align with business objectives and user needs.


Key Responsibilities


Develop and Implement SEO Strategies

Create and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to improve the website's search engine rankings.

Stay abreast of industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to adjust strategies accordingly.

Keyword Research and Analysis

Conduct thorough keyword research to identify relevant and high-performing keywords for the business.

Analyse keyword competition and trends to inform content and optimization efforts.

On-Page Optimisation

Optimise website content, meta tags, headers, and other on-page elements to align with targeted keywords and improve search engine visibility.

Ensure proper use of HTML tags and schema markup for enhanced search engine understanding.

Off-Page Optimisation

Develop and execute link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks.

Manage and monitor the link profile to ensure a healthy and natural backlink profile.

Technical SEO

Conduct technical SEO audits to identify and resolve issues affecting site performance.

Collaborate with developers to implement technical improvements, such as site speed optimisation and mobile responsiveness.

Content Strategy and Optimisation

Collaborate with content creators to ensure content aligns with SEO strategies and is optimised for search engines.

Develop and implement content strategies to address user intent and enhance engagement.

Analytics and Reporting

Utilise analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console) to track and analyse website performance.

Generate regular reports on key SEO metrics, traffic, and user behaviour, providing actionable insights.

Stay Informed and Educate Teams

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, search engine algorithm changes, and emerging technologies.

Educate and train cross-functional teams on SEO best practices and their impact on overall digital strategies.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams

Work closely with content creators, developers, designers, and marketing teams to integrate SEO best practices into various aspects of the business.

Collaborate on the creation of SEO-friendly content and landing pages.

Monitoring and Adapting to Algorithm Changes

Stay vigilant to search engine algorithm updates and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain and improve search rankings.

Leadership and Team Management

Manage and lead a team of SEO specialists, providing guidance, training, and support.

Testing and Experimentation

Conduct A/B testing and experiments to identify what strategies yield the best results and continuously optimise.

About You

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within an SEO team.

In-depth knowledge of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO best practices.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, etc.

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Demonstrated success in developing and implementing successful SEO strategies.

Up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in SEO and digital marketing.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project timelines, manage resources, and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed design decisions based on data and user feedback.

You have worked within an ecommerce environment.
